we received dream on me single stroller as 1st bday gift for baby (he is third child so we were due a new stroller). it is a piece of junk! HATED IT. actually asked giver to return (very uncomfortable to do so) after reading all the horrid reviews it had AND during set up felt very much like the mechanism to open and shut stroller would pinch my fingers- difficult to operate, therefor worried about kids getting pinched in there too. Lastly, the directions are written so badly- I laughed so hard I cried. So many mispellings and sentences that don’t even make sense (i.e. “Push it until you hear a kada sound”, and “do not let baby nurse operate”… I AM SERIOUS), made me seriously question the quality of the product.
read the other reviews you find online at amazon and such BEFORE you buy!

LOVE the Graco LiteRider. We purchased it when my son was 11 months old so can’t say how it does for newborns. It has a HUGE basket and is one of the only strollers we found where the seat sits straight up (it can also recline slightly in the 2nd position). My son hates to be leaning back at all so this one is great for us. Also, the strap is so much easier because it just buckles around his waist and you don’t need it to go around the shoulders. Only negative is the sun shade is worhtless, but I bought an extenstion shade and it works perfect. We bought the stroller at Walmart.com.

You missed the Britax Blink! Such an awesome stroller.

    • Allison says:

Unfortunately, our experience with the Blink was not so positive. Glad to hear it worked for you.

although not under $90, i would suggest going with the Chicco Liteway and NOT the Capri/CT 0.6. I had a Chicco Cortina travel system and LOVED it! When I made the switch over I wish I would have tried it out first and brought back the Capri when I first received it as a baby gift. I was ALWAYS kicking the wheels as they were too close together and stuck out a ways. It also didn’t push as easy as my Cortina – don’t even think about pushing it with one hand. I kept it though (didn’t want to spend the money on a new one and wouldn’t get my money back for it) and all in all it’s been alright – my daughter hasn’t had any issues and it is light and does fold up nice – although snaps VERY HARD!

all in all, if I could do it over, I would have purchased a different lightweight stroller.

  5. Margaret G says:

We got the Kolcraft Contours Lite as our one and only stroller. We love how it folds, is super lightweight, and the basket is nice and big. I love that we can stroll with our newborn safely in such a cheaply priced yet stylish stroller!

  6. Amy says:

Just bought the Kolcraft Contours last week and LOVE IT. Took it on vacation over the weekend and it was perfect!! I am a stroller hog and this is by far one of my favorites. Can’t see myself looking for anything else for a long time! Walmart also has it for Amazon’s price and you can get it shipped to store if you prefer that route.

  7. Larissa says:

For an umbrella stroller we LOVE The First Years Jet Stroller, got it for $40 on Diapers.com. Lightweight with all the fold-up ease of an umbrella stroller, yet it has under storage, and a storage console thing (for keys, cups, cell phone, sunglasses, etc) by the handles. My ONLY complaint is that the handles aren’t adjustable – I’m 5’8″ and feel a little stooped over after a day of pushing. But great value for the $$. Highly recommended!

    • Chrissy127 says:

I LOVE MINE AS WELL! I am about the same height and do not feel like I’m stooped over. I’m so happy with the “extras” it comes with compared to other stollers it’s size. I highly recommed this stoller to anyone in the market for a lightweight stoller

  8. Dianna says:

I noticed that some of your recommendations come from Albee Baby. Have you ever shopped with them? I ignored quite a few online reviews about their horrible customer service and ordered a stroller a few months ago. We accidentally ordered the wrong color and returning it was a HUGE pain.
There was a return fee, a restocking fee and it took 3 months for my credit card to be refunded. I’d rather pay a little more than shop at Albee Baby!

  9. marni says:

I have an Ignite and I LOVE it! We pushed our poor KeeKaroo Karoo (also recommended and cheap) to the brink, and replaced it with an Ignite, after reading the great reviews and seeing the adorable prints. I live in an apartment in Brooklyn, and use the stroller every day for walks to the park, trips to the store, EVERYTHING. The only negative I have experienced with the Ignite is that as soon as you hang anything on the back it is very tippy with no baby in it. They warn you about this, but I can’t leave the house with out a diaper bag, and I am spoiled about hanging it on the back of the stroller. I just keep an eye on it when the baby’s not in it – all of the pluses make up for this tiny minus.

  10. Liz R says:

In 2006 I bought a Maclaren Volo for my 4 year old. I loved it so much so I pulled it out of storage for my 9 month old and I still love it! Its so easy to push around.

  11. Malia says:

You forgot the Baby Jogger City Micro, which you can get at Albee Baby for $99! We actually got ours there for $89. Of course you have to spend $100 to get free shipping, so you’d need to either pony up another $5 or find something cheap to buy to top you off.

But this is a GREAT stroller, very lightweight and easy to fold. We keep it in the car and use it all the time for our toddler!

Also, in response to Dianna, we have ordered TWO strollers from Albee Baby and have been very happy with the result. But we have not done returns with them, so I’m sorry to hear what a pain it was. I think with sites like Albee Baby (and BabyCatalog) where there are return and restocking fees, you need to view your order as a no-return decision. It’s the trade-off for a price lower than you can find at Amazon or Diapers.com, imho.

  12. Megan W says:

I just purchased the First Years Ignite stroller and I absolutely love it. I love that it is lightweight and very easy to fold up and put in the trunk. Plus the longer handles mean no hunching over to push it (I’m 5’6″). Great stroller for the money!

  13. Allie says:

Also a fan of the Maclaren Volo. We had a Snap and Go when our child was still in the newborn carseat, but have had the Volo and only the Volo ever since. She’s two and a half, tall and leggy and so comfortable in it. It’s lightweight, easy to open and close with one hand, great control even on bumpy sidewalks and cobblestone streets. My husband is 6’5″ and I am 5’3″ and we both find it comfortable to maneuver. Only downside is lack of storage, but you can buy contraptions to hang off the back to hold drinks, cell phone, and more.

  14. Leslie says:

I have the chicco stroller, love it! The only thing I would change is the size/ accessibility to the storage basket.

  15. Susie says:

    Hello,
We are traveling to Guatemala next year and we are looking for a stroller that will hold up on cobblestone streets. Does anyone know which ones would work best for this? I’d love to be able to order a relatively inexpensive one if I knew for sure it would work but if the only ones I hear from experience are expensive, I would be willing to pay more because we will be there for 4 weeks. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you so much!
