Have you ever given your child a toy you thought she’d love only to find it forgotten less than a week later? Ugh.
Welcome to the 2011 updates of Baby Cheapskate’s “Toys That Get Played With” lists. The twelve toys on this list are here for one reason and one reason alone – because kids love them and continue to play with them long after the holiday decor is boxed up.
There’s no one toy that every kid likes, but the 12 toys on the list have proven track records. Hundreds of Baby Cheapskate readers have responded to more than half a dozen polls posted thrice yearly over the course of three years about which holiday toys made it to the top of the toy pile and stayed there. I’ve pored through the responses to compile this list. Each toy is linked to its listing on Amazon so that you can learn more about it.

I agree with the list…. My daughter has a few of the items on the list and she really does play with them all daily…. Her favorites are: the blocks, ball popper, learning kitchen, tea set and another thing she loved to play with in that age range was a musical piano that lights up.
my almost 3 year old daughter still plays with the tea set
Thanks SO much for this list. I have bookmarked it and will refer family to it when they ask what to get our daughter for Christmas. Love the great advice you give.
Love this list! Very helpful and I now have plenty of ideas for Christmas gifts this year for my new little one!
My 2 year old still plays with his stacking cups and shape sorters. I will warn you though, the baby loves his laugh and learn. But please do yourself a favor and go the the store and listen to the toy before you buy it. They tend to have high pitched annoying voices!
