When my son was a toddler we couldn’t take him to our local Kroger around Halloween because they had this super-scary life-sized zombie thing at the front of the aisles that would make him scream and cry.
Let’s face it. some Halloween stuff is too scary for little kids. At the same time, youngsters are fascinated by all the Halloween excitement. Here are nine fun Halloween DVDs for the five-and-under set that won’t make them worry about what’s hiding in the closet.
- Nick Jr. Favorites, Happy Halloween: (2010) Features the Halloween adventures of four faves: Dora the Explorer, The Wonder Pets, Yo Gabba Gabba, Blues Clues and Kai-Lan.
- Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!: Wubbzy Goes Boo! (2011) “There’s singing, dancing, trick or treating and kickity-kick ball too, plus plenty of positive values like creativity, patience and responsibility.”
- Mickey Mouse Clubhouse – Mickey’s Treat (2006) Mickey and pals have to use teamwork to get to a costume party in time.
- WordWorld: A Kooky Spooky Halloween: (2009) Two episodes from the educational PBS hit.

It’s not Halloween to me if I don’t get to hear Vince Guaraldi’s wonderful soundtrack while watching It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. I’ll check out the Yo Gabba Gabba one. Sounds like something my daughter would enjoy.
Love Great Pumpkin! I think 6 and 7 is the perfect age for it.
I found Word World Hooky Spooky Halloween and Cat in the Hat Tricks and Treats DVD’s in the $5 bin at Wal-Mart yesterday. Great purchase for my son and my niece.
