PayPal Offers Price Matching this Holiday Season [Up to $1000]

PayPal‘s leap into this holiday season’s price matching arena has shoppers buzzing.

Here’s how it works:

  • Pay for your item with PayPal on any day except Thanksgiving, Black Friday, or Cyber Monday. It’s accepted at more stores than you might imagine–Target, Walmart, 6pm.com, Toys R Us and many others. You can see a list of stores that accept PayPal here. It even works on airline tickets.
  • If you see the identical item advertised for less elsewhere (online or in-store) within 30 days, fill out the online PayPal price match form and attach copies (scans or screenshots) of your receipt and the ad with the lower price. You can also submit them via fax or email.
  • If your request is approved, you’ll be reimbursed for the difference via your PayPal account. within five days of your request (limit $250 per item)
  • Excludes close-out sales, going-out-of-business sales, limited-quantity promotions, doorbusters, auction sales, sales valid for less than one day, and liquidation sales.

PayPal’s also offering free return shipping when you use their service to pay.

I think it’s also worth distinguishing that you also cannot price match TO prices on Thanksgiving, Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Under EXCLUSIONS: “Items purchased on Thanksgiving, Black Friday or Cyber Monday, or advertised for sale only on these specific dates.” In case anybody (like me) was considering how we could avoid the rush on those sales days and buy ahead of time (in hopes of price matching to the Black Friday, etc, prices later).
