Amazon Now Offering Month-to-Month Prime Subscription for Some

Wanting to take advantage of what Amazon’s Prime membership offers this holiday season but not sure about shelling out $79 all at once?

You’ll be happy to know that Amazon’s apparently now testing a month-to-month payment option for Prime with some customers.

For $7.99 a month (after a month long free trial), members can get free two-day shipping, free Kindle books, streaming movies and more.

That comes out to more than the $79 over a year, but if you think a more temporary Prime membership would work for you, it’s a great option.

Right now Amazon’s being pretty quiet about the new plan, and I’m seeing no hints about which customers might have access to it and which won’t. To find out if you’re one of the lucky few for whom $7.99 a month is now an option, click here and see if month-to-month payment is listed. If it’s not available to you now, cross your fingers and keep checking.

Thanks to reader Doris for the heads up on this one.

I received an email from Discover saying that if you use your Discover card between now and December 15th, (and enter promo code DSCVRHSP) you can get free one day shipping on “thousands of select gift items “. I haven’t checked out what’s included, but I think it looks like a pretty good deal!
